Used cautiously in patients with risk factors for renal insufficiency, such as congestive heart failure, diuretic use, or cirrhosis. COMMENT: This is an important study for all practicing physicians who evaluate patients who receive NSAIDs. The growth of COX-2 inhibitors continues to be meteoric. While there is a general consensus in the medical community that these agents are safer, they clearly pose potential risks. This study emphasizes the potential for renal impairment. Previous reports have also highlighted the possibility of anaphylactic reactions. In the final analysis, we must remember that while these drugs appear to have a good safety record, selected high-risk patients must be treated cautiously. A. M. With a neutral pH, the oxytetracycline produces better results than when a low pH medium is used to inhibit bacterial growth. This medium inhibits the acidophilus organisms Lactobacillus included ; . Yeast extract provides vitamins, particularly the B-group and other nutrients; Glucose is the fermentable carbohydrate as energy source; Bacteriological agar is the solidifying agent. The pour plate method is recommended: Inoculate 1 ml 10-1 of diluted food sample and incubate at 20 - 25C. Examine daily from the 2nd to the 6th day for the formation of aerial mycelia. Count numbers of colonies in plates where there are 50 - 100 colonies after 5 days. Calculate number of yeasts or molds per 1g or 1 multiplying the number of colonies by the dilution factor. * ; When examining fecal specimens from patients under tetracycline treatment, Enterobacteriaceae are not adequately inhibited. Oxytetracyclin4 should then be replaced by Gentamicin.

Introduction: Oxyytetracycline hydrochloride is one of the broad-spectrum antibiotics which possesses a wide range of antibacterial activity. Several analytical methods have been reported for the determination of oxytettracycline hydrochloride, including spectrophotometry, high performance liquid chromatography, fluorimetry, voltammetry, polarography, capillary electrophoresis, titrimetry, flow-injection chemiluminescence, ionselective electrode and coated wire electrode. Over the past few years interest has been increasing in the application of simple, rapid, inexpensive and disposable sensors in fields such as clinical, environmental or industrial analysis. The most common disposable sensors are those produced by thick-film technology. A thick-film biosensor configuration is normally considered to be one which comprises layers of special inks deposited sequentially onto an insulating support or substrate. One of the key factors which distinguishes a thick film technique is the method of film deposition, namely screen printing. Screen printing seems to be one of the most promising technologies allowing sensors to be placed large-scale on the market in the near further because of advantages such as miniaturization, versatility and low cost and particularly the possibility of mass production. The aim of the present work is to investigate the fabrication of a simple, rapid, inexpensive and disposable potentiometric electrodes produced by thick-film technology for the determination of oxytetracycline. Methodology: For the preparation of ion-pair compound OTC-TPB ; , about 20 ml of 10-2 M solution of OTC was mixed with 25 ml of 10-2 M of sodium tetraphenylbrorate solution under stirring. The yellowish precipitate was filtered off, washed with water, dried at 60 0C. Subsequently, 0.01 g of OTC-TPB and 5.24 g of dibutyl phthalate DBP ; was then mixed with 5.00 g of PVC dissolved in 25 ml tetrahydrofuran in order to prepare PVCsensing membrane. The screen-printing OTC-ISEs were printed over a polyester substrate in form of flexible foil. Fabrication process of the sensor consists of four steps including consecutive printing: i ; printing of the working electrode using graphite-based polymer ink; ii ; printing of the Ag AgCl reference electrodes using Ag AgCl ink; iii ; printing of the ionselective layer using OTC-tetraphenylborate-modified PVC; iv ; printing of the insulation layer using insulting ink. After each printing step the substrate with consecutive layers of inks were heated at 40 0C for 10 min. The calibration curves were obtained by direct potentiometric measurements. All measurements were carried out in 10 ml MgCl2 solution pH 4.0 ; at room temperature.
